The Rosary
“By its nature the recitation of the Rosary calls for a quiet rhythm and a lingering pace, helping the individual to meditate on the mysteries of the Lord’s life as seen through the eyes of her who was closest to the Lord. In this way the unfathomable riches of these mysteries are unfolded.”
Pope Paul VI
Through praying the Rosary we are invited to strengthen our understanding and love of Christ by remembering mysteries like his birth, his miracles, his death and resurrection.
October is a month dedicated to the Rosary. Every day, the Mini Vinnies and members of the school community gather around the statue of Mary, reflect on a mystery and pray a decade of the Rosary together. On a Friday afternoon, we also invite parents and family members to join us afterschool for the final mystery of the week.
Mark 10 mission has also invited us to take on the Rosary challenge by praying a decade of the Holy Rosary every weekday in October. A decade of the Rosary is:
- - 1x Our Father
- - 10x Hail Marys
- - 1x Glory Be
Each week they will explore a set of Mysteries:
- - The Joyful Mysteries
- - The Glorious Mysteries
- - The Luminous Mysteries
- - The Sorrowful Mysteries
To support children in their Rosary Challenge Mark 10 mission have created a video for each mystery – one for each day of the week. Please join us in praying the Rosary Challenge at home. You can access the videos here:
