Parent volunteers
Parents play a crucial role in supporting the development of children in the school and one way of doing this is volunteering to read with the children. If you are interested in coming in to school to support us with this, please contact reply@smi.hounslow.sch.uk with 'Parent Volunteer' in the subject line and your name, your child’s name and your availability in the text of the email.
By half term, I aim to have allocated parents to year groups depending on the needs of each year. I will then be in contact after half term to confirm arrangements.
Thank you and we look forward to welcoming you into the school.

WOW - The Walk to School Challenge 2025 – 2026

This year, St Mary’s will continue to participate in the WOW Walk to School Challenge. This year’s theme, encourages children to Walk with joy, taking pupils on a journey of exploration of all those little things that bring happiness, creativity and joy to our lives. There are a selection of badges ranging from Jumping in Puddles to Painting up for grabs.
Each morning, pupils will record their journeys to school and will be rewarded with a badge for at least one active travel method to school, every week.
Walking, scooting, cycling, taking the bus, as well as parking and striding all count as an active journey. Click the link below to help plan your route to school: https://tfl.gov.uk/plan-a-journey/
School Council 2025-2026
Does your child want to be a school councillor this year? Our School Council is made up of two elected children from each class who meet each half term to discuss important issues within the school and represent their class opinions. Please read the information below to help your child decide whether or not they would like to stand for this very special role.
