Weekly update for 14th November 2025

Weekly update for 14th November 2025

New School App

In the summer term we switched our School Management Information System (MIS) from RM Integris to Arbor.  The switch to Arbor gives us all of the data we hold on our families in one place.  It also provides opportunities to streamline and move away from using multiple apps so that we can save money.  The next step in this migration is to move from Parent Hub to Arbor's Parent Portal.  This means we are changing how we communicate with you and we are beginning to phase out Parent Hub.

The Arbor Parent App is available as a downloadable app in the Apple Store and Google play and is also available via a website.

In the coming days you will receive an email (to the email address you have provide school) from Arbor inviting you to set up your account.  If you don't receive an email by next Wednesday please contact the school office.  Once you've registered please follow the steps on this parent information leaflet.

From Monday 24th November we will no longer be using the existing Parent Hub App.

You need to have carried out the steps in the leaflet before then.

We suggest registering for our weekly email to ensure you still get this weekly update by clicking here

In the coming weeks we will also switch to Arbor for all of our payments, trips and Chess club (Parent Pay will go).  After this bookings for Christmas (and other productions) and parent evening slots will also change over. More on these later though!

Remembering the Faithful Departed in November

During the month of November the Church asks us to remember those who have gone before us and who are continuing on their journey to be with God in heaven.  In school we'll be praying the Prayer for the Response of their Souls:

Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon them.

May they rest in peace. Amen

May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.  AMEN

St Mary's Remembers

As part of the annual remembrance commemorations, our school community participated in many different ways.

Children in Year 6 volunteered to sell Poppy Appeal products on behalf of The Royal British Legion.

On Remembrance Sunday, children in Year 2 – 6 represented St Mary’s in the annual Remembrance Sunday parade. Here, they wore sashes with the names of those from Isleworth, who did not return from battle after the First World War. Two of our pupils also laid a wreath on behalf of Ruth Cadbury MP.

Across the school we also had the opportunity to learn about how and why we remember sacrifice and service in Britain and the Commonwealth.

Pupils then took part in the national two-minute silence at Isleworth War Memorial. This was alongside pupils from Worple School, veterans and the public. Some of us, laid crosses on the steps to the war memorial.

Mary’s Meals Mondays is back!

Mary’s Meals Mondays will be returning once again this year!

📅 When: Every Monday from 24th November until Christmas
📍 Where: Parish Hall
🕣 Time: From 8:15am
🍎 What: Join us for a warm bowl of porridge, tea, coffee, and fresh fruit.
💙 Why: To raise money for Mary’s Meals, helping to feed children around the world.

Last year, thanks to your amazing support, we raised £1,031.36 — enough to feed 54 children for an entire year! Let’s see if we can beat that total this year and make an even bigger difference.

We hope to see you there each Monday morning — bring your appetite and your generosity!

Walk to School

Congratulations to Year 3 Doncaster, who were WOW Walk to School winners for October!

Congratulations to Year 3 Ipswich, who were Eco-Warrior winners in October!

Each month’s Walk to School and Eco-Warrior winners, will receive a Mufti Day at the beginning of a half term.

Year 3 visit the Science Museum

On Thursday, Doncaster and Ipswich classes visited the Science Museum in London. As part of our visit, we learnt what is needed to make a rocket fly; explored if a magnet can be switched off and what the word 'aerodynamic' means. This was part of the ‘Feel the Force’ workshop which prepared for this half term’s ‘Forces’ topic.

After this, we explored the Medicine Gallery in advance of our ‘Human Body’ topic.

School Governors

We have vacancies for Foundation governors on the school's governing body.  Foundation governors are Catholic who are appointed by the Bishop to serve on school's governing bodies.  There's training and support available.

Please have a look at this information and get in touch with us if you're interested.

A reminder that we don't allow snacks in school - this includes the after school clubs.  If you want your child to have a quick bite to eat in the after school club please make sure they only bring in fruit.  All infant children receive free fruit or veg as a midmorning snack.  If you'd like your junior aged child to have a snack please send some fruit or veg in with them.

Have a lovely half term everyone!
