Weekly Update for 6th September 2024

Starting the Year with Mary

Each class at St Mary's is named after a place where Our Lady has appeared or where there's a close connection or veneration to her. At the start of the year we ask for her intercessions:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

The extended transition week we held in the summer term has helped us get off to an incredibly great start! Well done everyone!

We need your support with a few cases of incorrect uniform and PE kit. Teachers are already speaking to you about this and the leadership team will follow up with conversations and then meetings with you if we see your child in incorrect uniform. Thank you for your support in this!

Mini Vinnies Assembly September 30th
Our team of Mini Vinnies will be commissioned by Katie from the Society of St Vincent de Paul on Monday 30th September.

Curriculum Meetings - meet the teachers
Come and meet the teachers teaching your child this year, hear about their learning, the trips planned, the expectations and then see them in their classrooms. We will start in the main hall and then move into classrooms on these dates:

School Attendance from Sept 2024

In August the law around school attendance changed. We work closely with the local authority to support good attendance and to challenge when attendance needs to improve. You can read the new regulations here and help by making sure your child is in school everyday.
