Weekly Update for 6th December - Advent 2
Maranatha!
Open our eyes to the dignity of all people
And our ears to the cries of the earth.
Maranatha!
Let us walk in solidarity with the poor
And cleanse our world from oppression.
Maranatha!
Let us shout out for justice for all
And renew our hope for change.
Maranatha!
The Lord is coming
Let us share the Good News!
Amen.

Farewells
Sadly, we will be saying goodbye to two valued members of our team at the end of this term.
Jenny Whyms will be leaving us after being with us since September 2011. She has been an integral part of our office team, and her contributions have meant so much to all of us. We’re going to miss her, but we wish her all the very best in her future endeavours. Thank you Jenny!
Arshan Anton is also moving on, as he’s planning to pursue a career change. We wish him all the best as he embarks on this new journey. Thank you, Arshan, for everything you’ve done here.
Mary’s Meals Mug Mondays
Come and have some delicious porridge and fruit and help the Mini Vinnies and the local parish raise money for Mary's Meals.
When: Every Monday until Christmas
Where: Parish Hall
When: From 8.15
What: Join us for porridge, tea, coffee and fruit
Why: To raise money for Mary’s Meals
We are recommending £1 but any donations are welcome! There is a card machine available too! It only costs £19.15 to feed a child for a whole school year so please come for breakfast and help us raise as much money as possible!
So far we have raised over £200! Thank you so much. Please continue to come!
World Gifts instead of Christmas Cards
Advent is a time when we can think about how we can help those less fortunate than ourselves. Therefore we are asking children to donate the money that they would have spent on Christmas cards to World Gifts.
Deadline: Friday 13th December
The class which has raised the most money will be announced in assembly and will earn a mufti day on Tuesday 17th December.

Y1 and Y2 Christmas Play
Tickets are available on Monday 9th December for Year 1 and Year 2’s joint Christmas productions. Please log in through School Cloud to book tickets (the same website used to book parents evenings).
https://smisleworth.schoolcloud.co.uk/
Please note there is a dress rehearsal for grandparents and parents with buggies to attend. The following two performances are then limited to a combined 2 tickets per child. These can be used on the same day, or split across two separate days.
Ticket limits are in place for everyone’s safety and comfort within our school hall, as well as ensuring that we can facilitate every child having a family member attend. Please do not try to attend without a valid ticket.

Year 6’s trip to the British Film Institute
This week, Year 6 visited the British Film Institute to extend our historical and geographical understanding of London’s landscape. It was a fantastic opportunity to see how film sources can educate us on how our local area has evolved. We took part in a workshop called ‘Blast From The Past’, which included the first ever film clip screened in the UK and footage of Isleworth May Day Fair of 1836!
WOW Walk to School Challenge
