Weekly Update for 22nd November - St Cecilia
St Cecilia's Prayer
O glorious saint who chose to die instead of denying your king,
we pray you please to help us as his fair praise we sing.
We lift our hearts in joyous song to honour him this way.
And while we sing, remembering, to sing is to double pray.
At once in our hearts and in our tongues
we offer double prayer sent heavenward on winged notes
to praise God dwelling there.
While in our hearts and tongues we try with song to praise God twice,
We ask dear saint, to help us be united close to Christ
Amen
During our summer Y6 trip to Rome we visit the Catacombs of St Callixtus and see the original burial place of St Cecilia.

Mary’s Meals Mug Mondays (Advent Project)
Please support our local parish and our Mini Vinnies by raising money for Mary's Meals in the run up to Christmas.
From Monday 25th November, every Monday morning until Christmas, from 8:15, in the parish hall, the Mini Vinnies will be serving mugs of delicious porridge with fruit for a donation. We are recommending £1 (coin) but any donations are welcome!
It only costs £19.15 to feed a child for a whole school year so please come for breakfast and help us raise as much money as possible!
Parliament Week in Year 6
Year 6 have been partaking in the nation’s UK Parliament Week. Along with children from schools across the nation, they have been exploring what Parliament is, its purpose and how this impacts British society. Their understanding of British Values, democracy and Parliament’s structure has greatly developed, which they showcased in some fantastic class discussions and by creating informative leaflets for Year 5. They were also lucky enough to be visited by our local MP Ruth Cadbury, who spoke about her career as an MP and ran a question time. A big thank you to Ruth Cadbury for her inspiring visit.
Year 4 Thames explorer trust trip, Chiswick
This week year 4 visited the Thames explorer trust pier house in Chiswick. The day included a range of different activities related to investigating the river. Whilst the day was a cold one, the children really enjoyed investigating and looking for mini-beasts that could be found along the foreshore. One group even managed to spot a baby eel! The children also found it fascinating to learn about the quality of the water and how the Thames can actually be said to be quite clean!
Attendance and Lateness
We need your help in the mornings as far too many children are arriving late for the start of the day. This is upsetting for them and disruptive for the rest of the children in the class. Please try to be on time in the mornings.
The London Borough of Hounslow Council considers regular school attendance to be a key factor in maximising the opportunities for all pupils. The expectation of schools and the Local Authority is that children attend school every day. A pupil missing 10% or more of possible sessions is classed as a persistent absentee.
Punctuality is also important and lateness has a huge impact on a child’s experience at school. It is also disruptive for the other children in class. Please note that your child must be in class before 8.55am.
We are required to regularly report attendance and punctuality of individual children who are below the threshold to the SASS (School Attendance Support Service). We will therefore, be continually monitoring your child’s attendance and punctuality and where they fall below the expected level without medical confirmation, we will send out letters or meet with parents to discuss any difficulties.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
